Hey friends!
Today I’m sharing a clean and bold card that proves simple can still pack a punch—especially when you’re working with a Heroscape from Hero Arts! I used the On the Road stamp set from the July Hero Studio Card Kit of the Month, and it’s quickly become a favorite of mine. 💥 This card is all about color, texture, and that “exciting new chapter” kind of energy.

I let the road-trip scene shine by stamping it in masculine-leaning ink colors from Altenew and die-cutting it with the coordinating dies. To keep the focus on the scene while adding subtle interest, I layered it over a kraft card base embossed with the Peppermint Stripes embossing folder from Spellbinders. The angled lines add just enough texture—and even mimic the feel of movement, like the open road calling. The warm terra cotta skies and lush green hills create a palette that’s rugged, grounded, and full of wanderlust—perfect for any guy (or gal) in your life.
💡 Road Trip Tip:
Before my last road trip, I posted in a travel Facebook group and asked locals for the most scenic routes between Denver and Colorado Springs. Thanks to their advice, what could’ve been a basic drive turned into one of the most peaceful and beautiful stretches of road I’ve ever experienced. So if you’re hitting the road anytime soon—ask a local! You might just find a hidden gem off the beaten path. 🚗🌄
This layout is super simple—no frills, just feeling. It’s a reminder that cards don’t need to be complicated to be striking. Sometimes it’s the mood they evoke that does the heavy lifting. And this one says “Adventure Awaits” with thoughtful, grounded confidence.
The sentiment from Concord & 9th is also incredibly versatile—great for retirement, a birthday, heading off to college, or simply reminding someone that life’s next chapter is waiting. It’s a great card to keep in your stash for the perfect occasion.
🛠️ Supplies:
- Hero Arts “On the Road” Heroscape (July 2025 Hero Studio Kit)
- Concord & 9th Plane Amazing Stamp Set (for coordinating sentiment)
- Gina K. Kraft Cardstock
- Spellbinders Peppermint Stripes Embossing Folder (or use a score board for a similar effect)
✨ Design Tips for Masculine-Leaning Cards:
- Let bold, earthy colors do the work—rust, green, and kraft communicate strength and warmth.
- Embossing adds instant texture and polish—no embellishments needed.
Do you have a road trip dream destination—or a favorite scenic route you’ve taken? I’d love to hear where the open road has taken you (or where it’s calling you next)!
Until next time,
💙 Denise
